DESCRIPTION:Monday 18th Jan 2021 we are running an open 'Workplace Mental Health Awareness' training.\nThis is a 1-day training course and will be an interactive online training.\nTo book a place on the course\, simply click here and complete the form.\nThis course if for anyone who wants to improve their knowledge about the subject of mental health and psychological wellbeing and resilience in order to support their own wellbeing or tat of colleagues. It is training that would allow you to be a designated 'Mental Health Champion' (often referred to as a mental health first aider) in the workplace.\n\nLearning objectives\n\nDay 1 syllabus. At the end of this course\, attendees will:\n\n \tHave an awareness of the signs and symptoms of mental distress\n \tOverview of common types of mental health problems in the workplace: Stress\, anxiety\, depression and panic attacks.\n \tUnderstand the difference between neurotic and psychotic condition.\n \tBe aware of factors that make people more psychologically vulnerable\, including the impact of disclosure\, social media etc.\n \tUnderstand how professional roles and personal life choices can influence mental health\n \tLearn how to manage expectations relating to the level of psycho-social support production crew can provide to colleagues\n \tUnderstand what is helpful for people in mental distress\n \tBe aware of how to manage boundaries in a conversation in a supportive way\n \tGain an overview of how prolonged stress\, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma may affect them in their work role\n \tLearn the basics of self-care to more effectively manage their own psychological health\n \tUnderstand the limitations of their role as a non-mental health professional\n \tRecognise when professional support should be accessed and where to signpost towards\n\n \n\nAgenda for the day:\n\n \t9am Online registration and tech checks\n \tSession 1: 9:30-11am (90mins)\n \tBreak 11am (15mins)\n \tSession 2: 11:15am to 12:45pm (90mins)\n \tLunch 12:45 – 1:30pm (45mins)\n \tSession 3: 1:30 – 3pm (90mins)\n \tBreak 3pm (15mins)\n \tSession 4: 3:15 – 4:15pm\n \tQ&A and finish by 4:30pm\n\n \n\nRecent feedback from delegates attending this course:\n\nThis course was great for understanding how to both see and react to problems with mental health.
