Veteran Gift: Funding for PTSD Treatment 2024

In memory of Chris Haggan – the gift of therapy.

Back in 2016 we ran our first PTSD treatment programme for veterans. Providing combined psychological and somatic therapy in the form of trauma-focused psychotherapy and craniosacral therapy. One of our veterans was Chris Haggan. Chris served in The Kings Own Royal Border Regiment. 1970 – 1982.

Sadly Chris passed away earlier this year. At his funeral, Chris’s wife, Wendy, and his close friend Carlos who was also on the programme, chose to raise funds for SafeHaven to help a veteran with PTSD receive treatment.

In April we had the tremendous pleasure to welcome Wendy and Carlos to the Centre. They both chose to come in person and to present the funds raised.

We are incredibly grateful for the faith in us. And to show our support, SafeHaven have matched the amount raised.

This means we can offer twelve 1 hour sessions. Treatment can be in person, or online. Alternatively, the bursary can be put towards a place on an intensive treatment retreat.
