SafeHaven 8 Week Mindfulness Group – Level 1

We are excited to announce a new SafeHaven Mindfulness Group. This is a structured programme, split into two 8 week courses (level 1 and level 2). Taking a trauma informed approach to mindfulness, this small group (maximum of 6 people) will learn week by week how to apply mindfulness in their everyday life, to manage stress and help reduce anxiety and increase wellbeing.
Mindfulness is simply about awareness. It is about experiencing a direct and intuitive awareness, knowing what you are doing while you are doing it. In time the skill of mindfulness allows you to know what is going on in your mind and your body whilst at the same time being fully aware of the outside world.
Research has shown that an increase in this mindful awareness has multiple benefits that, with continual practice, can support you throughout the rest of your life. These benefits include:
• Improved physical health
• Better quality sleep
• Healthier eating habits
• Less emotional exhaustion
• Feeling more emotionally balanced
• Improved job satisfaction
Once of the challenges when we experience high anxiety, panic or trauma is that a person often does not have the capacity to learn mindfulness in the usual way. However, mindfulness is still extremely beneficial. This means we have to take a trauma-informed approach to ensure everyone finds the experience supportive and safe; ensuring the essential mindful component of gentleness is applied as equally to the learning process as it is to ourselves.
If you would like to join us, our first Level 1 group commences on Monday the 24th September for 8 weeks.
The group will meet at our new Centre for 90 minutes, between 6pm and 7:30pm.
Refreshments and all materials are provided – all you need to bring is yourself.
The 8 week programme is £240. This can be paid upfront, or please ask us for one of our payment plans if you would like to pay weekly (£30/week). We ask for £30 deposit to secure your place.
